Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to assist the CRO inproviding supervision, leadership and managerial oversight to the Department ofLearning Resources, to include the patient and staff library. The position will also assist in providingeducational programs for staff and supervise nurse instructors, DCA Coach, inthe absence of the CRO, the Librarian and clerical staff. This position will receive generalsupervision from the Chief Resources Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include two years as an instructor in a psychiatric setting.

Note:Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing specialty codes in the Nursing Instruction field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidates should have experience in thefollowing:

1. Experienceassessing, planning, developing, implementing and evaluatingtraining materials to meet the orientation and ongoing competencyneeds of the Hospital Staff.

2. Experience of related accreditation needed for apsychiatric hospital and certification requirements.

3. Experience providing operational guidance and leadershipto the department's nursing instructors.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties, which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

3. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain a current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
