The Ultimate Ticketing Guide for Cedar Point (2024)

Located along a peninsula that overlooks lovely Lake Erie and boasting an incredible array of renowned thrill machines, Cedar Point has described itself as “America’s Roller Coast,” as well as the “Roller Coaster Capital of the World.” With 16 coasters, many of which have set records and are beloved by both enthusiasts and more casual fans, the titles are apt.

Cedar Point has a ton of other rides and attractions as well as a separate outdoor water park, Cedar Point Shores, an indoor water park resort that is open year-round, a number of lodging options, and other features. Daily tickets start as low as $45 when purchased online. There are also discounts available, including hotel and tickets packages, and season passes to consider.

How Much Are Tickets to Cedar Point?

Plan Your Visit

When to Go

Cedar Point is open seasonally, generally from May to October. It is typically open daily from mid-May through Labor Day and on weekends only from September through October. Saturdays are generally the busiest days. Crowds are often lighter early and late in the season. Consider going to the park on rainy or overcast days (or days when inclement weather is forecast) for smaller crowds.

Fast Lane

On days when there are likely to be long wait times for the rides, consider purchasing Fast Lane, the line-skipping pass at Cedar Point. It comes in two varieties. Fast Lane lets you bypass the regular lines on 20 attractions, including the coasters GateKeeper, Valravn, and Magnum XL-200. The higher-priced Fast Lane Plus tosses in premium rides such as Steel Vengeance, Maverick, and Top Thrill Dragster. Costs for the passes vary depending on the day and the anticipated crowd levels.

Dining

You can purchase food a la carte at the park’s dining locations or you could consider purchasing an All Day Dining pass. For $31.99, you could receive entree and a side dish at most restaurants once every 90 minutes throughout the day. Cedar Point also offers a souvenir bottle for $13.99 that includes free refills every 15 minutes.

Cabanas

Cedar Point Shores offers a variety of cabanas to rent. They accommodate up to 12 guests and include different configurations and amenities depending on the cost.

Accommodations

Cedar Point offers a number of properties for overnight guests, including the historic Hotel Breakers; the budget-friendly Express Hotel; Lighthouse Point, which welcomes RVs and offers cabins; and the nearby Sawmill Creek Resort, which includes an 18-hole golf course. Hotel guests get great deals on park tickets, early admission to Cedar Point, and complimentary parking. The indoor water park resort, Castaway Bay, is open year-round.
