I would appreciate hearing what you think of it once you've run with it a bit.

So I hooked up my new ZW-L last night. Love it!This transformer is a beast. Feels solid, no complaints about build quality at all. The fault protection is second to none and works really well. I'm still a bit confused about the command control aspect of the transformer. I can't figure out:1) why you would want the throttles assigned as engines instead of tracks?2) why you would want variable control of the throttles on the legacy remote when running legacy/command control engines? Wouldn't it make more sense that if I'm running in "command" mode (running TMCC/Legacy or even DCS engines) I would want throttles a and d (power to my mainlines) at a solid 18 volts non-variable?__Gromet

Wow. I didn't know it had that capability. I will have to read a manual on it first to decide if I want to have it. I was thinking it was basically a Lionel Z-4000 for just conventional operation.

Lee,I does have standard PW ZW/z-4000 conventional mode capability. There is a button on the back for Conventional/Command mode. Currently I'm running in conventional mode. Handle A- to DCS TIU fixed input 1 out to mainline 1. Handle B- to my accessory distribution block. Handle C- direct to fastrack bump and go trolley line. Handle D- to DCS TIU fixed input 2 out to mainline 2. These throttles when in conventional mode act just the same as a ZW or Z-4000 handle would work.

Thanks guys. I found the manual site and looked it through and saw the conventional mode capability. I'm going to get one to replace two of the CW-80s I have.My CW-80s have given good service, but two of them (those to be replaced) howl for the first few minutes as CW-80s are wont to do as their fan bearings get old and one is doing it all the time now. Plus, I like the arrangement of the levers and having the meters, and it will be good to have more power reserve if I need it. Great unit.
