Global Keratin Treatment Review (2024)

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to try out the Global Keratin Best Keratin Treatment at my local salon, Charles Penzone. I’ve been going to Charles Penzone for as long as I can remember and my hairdresser, Raven, had posted on Facebook about the Global Keratin The Best Hair Smoothing System. I was really intrigued and in July, I went in and got it done. I’ve been holding out for a few months to write this so that I could give you an honest Global Keratin Treatment review and give you my overall thoughts…and what you ALL are thinking—is it worth the money?! Keep in mind, this hair treatment is around $300…but wait til you see the results!

Here’s my hair before……

I mean, it’s not horrible right. It’s definitely a little frizzy…and don’t even get me started on my uneven haircut (not done with Raven, but fixed by Raven). But overall, it’s definitely not at it’s worst. My hair gets insanely frizzy in the heat and humidity to the point where I can barely step outside before it de-straightens itself! So Global Keratin to the rescue!

The treatment starts with a serious scrubbing from your hair stylist (we’re talking washing, washing, and rewashing using their best hair products). Then she applies the cream evenly throughout your hair, strand by strand, making it silky smooth. Don’t you love getting pampered by a stylist?! 🙂

Global Keratin Treatment Review

So here’s the ONLY thing I didn’t like about the treatment–it takes a while to do. I was there for quite a while getting it all done…and then there is also waiting time. So budget about 3 hours for the whole treatment and bring a good book my friends! 🙂

Another thing to note–the cream itches a bit while you’re waiting. Raven gave me a plastic glove and I would gently itch my scalp while I was waiting. And note–this treatment is formaldehyde free! So no worries there!

After I waited about an hour (more or less), Raven came back over and washed all the treatment out of my hair. Again–washing really really well.

Next step…she meticulously dried my hair section by section, followed with the most insanely precise straightening session you’ve ever had. She has to run the flat iron over each section of hair (inch by inch!) like 5 times to get it perfectly straight. This seals the treatment in!

FINALLY–after all those hours of hard work from your amazing stylist, your hair will end up like this…………………

My hair was like glass. It was THE straightest, softest, and smoothest it has EVER BEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. It was soft and shiny and worth every minute. Like seriously, silky smooth and frizz-free. I felt like a new person – no more breakage!

So long story short (in case you just skipped over all the step by steps and want to know the end result)….

Conclusion: This hair treatment is a GAME CHANGER for me.

There. I said it. I have now found the one hair treatment I will not be able to live without. Cost be darned. The GK Best Treatment has changed my outlook on hair care. Seriously, the best hair treatment out there.

I can go outside in the humidity now and I’m good!

No frizz, no crazy waves. It stays put!

When I wash and dry it…I can ALMOST go without straightening it. Before, after a shower, my hair would be a huge poof before I straightened it! Now, I get out of the shower, I dry it…and I run a straightener through it a few times and I’m good.

This saves me a TON of time straightening my hair and KEEPING it straight. I no longer need to put so much effort into syling it; forget about doing a blow dry or running a flat iron through it every day.

It’s been almost three months since I got it and it’s going strong! Still great results! Depending on how often you shampoo, I understand it to last 4-6 months.

Keeping up with the Treatment (GK Hair Products)

To keep up the treatment, they recommend that you use the Global Keratin Products, (GK HAIR), which contains the product, Juvexin, which keeps your hair so soft and straight. I shampoo every other night and use dry shampoo between shampoos, so the bottles last me quite a few weeks and aren’t horribly expensive. I also use the smoothing serum. If I’m going to invest this kind of money into a treatment that saves me a lot of time…I may as well go full throttle and do it right.
